Roadwork

The only time it's "manageable" is when it's wet.

After two days of rain it's like wet cement. When cars come through it squishes out from under the sides of the tires. I scrape it flat and do what I can to fill the holes. Just call me Sisyphus.

One has to take one's exercise where one finds it.

I'd likely miss out on this if I lived inside.

  1. Sisyphus aye? I just was reading the local paper, in it was an article who mention do not drive a wheeled vehicle over a snow packed trail. Now here in the neighbourhood, that is not commonly known, and this is the first time i heard it spoken, of course we, other users of the trails, all do not like the ruts wheeled vehicles make. The fact of NOT driving on a wet trail is more commonly known, but i have heard that in Australia they just close such roads till it all dries up again. Now here you seem to... what are you doing Sisyphus?

    1. I use a shovel to push the ridges back into the grooves made by the tires.

I also take dirt from the sides of the road, which are usually higher, and use it to fill in the holes.
