In Search of Sasquatch

My left eye has had me bedridden for three days. Today the weather is just too nice. I HAD to get up and go see.

The hills are so steep I'm confined to the road, but I think I've made my peace with trees.

Doug, a bow hunter, told of spur up the hill. It took me an hour and 15 minutes to go about 1,000 ft uphill. The spur is BEAUTIFUL! An old road they blocked off that's slloooowly being overgrown. I didn't have the strengrh to go far, but there was a lovely little meadow....like ambling through some huge estate. Three wonderful hours total!

I REFUSE to view the distances I cover as less than magnificent. I stop every few hundred feet to shed a few tears at the beauty.

  1. More altitude! Despite a few challenges you seem to be working on improving mobility!

  2. Acceptance of limitations and continuing to push the boundaries of those limitations are keys to living fully. One of the things I've learned from Justin

  3. We're all faced with decreasing mental and physical capacity. It is what it is. I am no longer competitive on the NBA court. I can still observe and split my time between profound and really stupid commentary. For some reason I thought you had included "A Walk In The Woods" in your post and was going to suggest you never ever watch that Robert Redford film, but since you didn't, do watch the film. It's awful.

    1. Ah, Art...always good to know you're still out there.

I have two posts prepared, scheduled a few days apart. They're a few months ahead so the silence will be the signifier.

The first has some details about the women....not much new. The second is a poem from Hesse's *The Glass Bead Game.*

Yes, the blue tarps are much to "sensitive," and expensive, for my use. Plus, the color absorbs heat...not advantageous in desert travel. But am glad to hear the birds can make use; peoples' attitude toward (some say "towards") littering is so cavalier.

I like your idea of post-mortem blogging, but I depend on my day-to-day consciousness for inspiration. I think Justin's comment via his dad, John, is likely as profound as it gets. I DID like Aldous Huxley's admonition/encouragement to, "Try a little more kindness."

R.e. Blogger: should we switch to Wordpress? I've never tried backing up or downloading the blog; have you?

Please share your blog URL through the email at the bottom of my profile?

I watched the trailer for *A Walk In the Woods.* It looks like my kind of movie. The last one I saw was was *Bennie & Joon.*
