138 leaves out of Roseburg, eastbound. It climbs up to a "sno-bowl" where there're turnouts to chainup. There's a resort at Diamond Lake, similar to the one at the north rim Grand Canyon. I didn't check the lodge, just got gas and went on...down 63 toward Medford.
There're waterfalls along the way; some are close to the highway, others, as with National Falls, are a bit of a hike. Beyond the outliers of the city, there're many places to camp.

The waters are amazing. In places there're small bits of foam, but it's cleaner than any other you're likely to see in the lower 44...not including Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington.

But there're no fish. The few who persist in drowning worms look bored, or, if lucky, contemplative. But no one's haulin' 'em out. As with the woods, they're sterile. But purty!
