Departing ABQ

After a delightful holiday (Solstice!) celebration with Michelle capped off by an amazing session yesterday with Charey Fox (of The Source), the onliest regret wuz not havin' enough room for the accordion. Reminds me a bit of how the pie-anos got left by the roadside when the early incursionists made their way westward.

Years ago, just for ducks, I started noting what time I broke camp; it's alwayz 1:30 p.m. Today I exited the storage locker at 1:34. Of course, I had to stop for beer.

Northbound, toward Utah. It's rumored there're three book stores in Durango, Colorado. It's a busy place, sorta like Moab. I can usually last about an hour...lotsa folks jumpin' round afore jumpin' off. "Let's hike! Let's bike! I wanna hang-glide! I wanna raft! I wanna hang-glide in a raft!"

Hit shore iz nice tuh be away from Albuq.

The Sublime Lord Genghis

It's true..sigh...there's nothing happening.

I enjoy Michelle's company immensely, but as far as adventure, life in Albuquerque is as exciting as a hangnail. I hear there are some nice escorts, but I no longer have the discretionary income to afford such indulgences. And, of course, one has to consider The Covid when one thinks of engaging intimately. Speaking of which, I get my shot on Saturday. But that's as exciting as it gets.

The hole in the cornea is healing, but it's taking its sweet time. The doc insists on seeing me every three weeks; preferably every two. So, it's cat-vibing videos and accompanying Michelle on her rounds until the eye heals sufficiently.

I DO get to practice my accordion...now that I have one. And I DO get to the archery range (indoor) every few days where the woman who runs it is beginning to recognize me and wish me "Have a good day." But it's enough to make one wonder what everyone else is doing. Watching tv, no doubt. Lucky devils!

Pilling the Cat - A Psuedo Fb Post

This post is the kind that were I on Fb I might post there. I was on Fb when it first started, but once I saw where it was headed, I got off. I suppose if I had grandchildren, watched tv, had other interests besides women, I might be on Fb. But I don't. Plus, it's not searchable.

You Can't Make Me

One of the challenges of cat-sitting is giving meds.

Michelle took a hit yesterday

which prompted me to see what else was out there. Obviously, a long history of contention...

MOAB - It Ain't Whut hit Ustuh Be

 This just in...

Arches National Park has, this morning, already reached capacity. I came back at noon and it was still completely full....no admittance until someone leaves.

I went south to Hole In the Wall Rest Area.  Between Arches and Hole in the Wall there were four accidents; two were bad.

Coming back from Hole In The Wall I pulled over in Moab to FaceTime with Martha.  While we were talking I saw two more (accidents).  About 30 minutes later a helicopter landed by the first.

There's a lot of construction and traffic is slow. Unfortunately, peoples' response is to drive more aggressively...passing illegally, following too close, honking their horns.  In addition, there are a lot of ATVs and dirt bikes.

In an effort to ameliorate, the powers that be are diverting people from Arches to Canyonlands. I'M  going back to my camp. It's time for some serious map perusal and an escape route.

Then there's this...

Cat-sitting

In order to spend time with her, I accompany Michelle on her rounds. Here I am after returning from a pleasant constitutional in one of the upper middle-class ghettos that have replaced the verdant sage on the bajada of the Sandia Mountains.
