It was on the Smith River in the Jedediah Redwoods that Smith signed on. 






I'd recently read Patti Smith's 
latest literary effort M Train 
and was fantasizing about us 
traveling together and how I'd call her Smith. 

Then Ms. Cook got ahold of the idea.
